Lotusflow3r - First Impressions Podcast!

Hello everyone!

The Lotusflow3r Impressions Podcast is now online! The discussion focuses on our first impressions of all 3 new Prince albums (including the Bria project), the new website, Leno appearances, live shows and much much more, so download and enjoy!

Very exciting times to be a Prince fan right now, especially because the music is really stacking up and things are moving fast! What’s gonna happen next? A tour? A residency? A documentary? Who knows, but one thing is for sure (and I hope most of you will agree) - Prince is on fire with this new material, a milestone in the career of one of the 20th and 21st century’s greatest composers and pop artists, IMHO.

Boom!

  1. Been looking forward to hearing this discussion. The new material is the best this decade - on a par with TRC.

  2. Great ‘cast guys! Prety much agree with what you guys say, 2 classic albums showing a bit of diversity. Hopefully the website will expand over time, novelty has nearly worn off for me to be honest. Confused over the ‘brian’ situation, why no solo promotion from her?

Can’t wait for the next one. Would love some podcast on tours or particular live shows.

    Cheers, 3121Xperience

  3. Wow im impressed again , Great show again the site was very dissapointing & im not complaining i really hope we get good seats like the ONA tour , i agree with most everything you guys covered , the TMZ bit IMO was just alot of hype for TV i cant speak for everyone in the U.S. but i seen the exact same thing at the Tamar gig here in Chicago when Prince gave the guitar to a fan & security retrieved it quickly i think it was all hype for a story im sure real fans know the difference, anyways i think the Bria songs was some of Tamar throw away songs ” kept woman ” is on there its kinda cool but i like Tamar’s better. that poor girl did’nt stand i chance with you guys , i agree on the te amo corozon comparison i heard that as well on “Everytime” & to hear it on the podcast along with alot of other things really made my day keep up the good work & i will be looking foward to the next show , im sorry i really dig “the morning after” too & im not ashamed to admit it Lotus/mpls gets 8, brian gets 6 , i was lookin for her on Leno, but didnt lose any sleep. im gonna leave it there, LOVE LIKE JAZZ!!

  4. Agian I really enjoyed the podcast. I’m looking forward to your more indepth reviews. I’ve really enjoyed your shows so far. I think a podcast discussing the circulating outtakes would be very interesting, but loving the album reveiws. I don’t always agree with you guys but It’s really good to the albums discussed in such detail

My take on the albums Lotusflower 9, MPLSound 9, Elixer 7.

Elixer surprised the hell out of me, I really didn’t like Another Boy and still don’t but other than that I like ever other song.

    Thanks alot.

  5. Loving all the podcasts guys! Was especially excited to hear this one and really enjoyed listening to it on my iPod walking around London. Really looking forward to the next one, a track by track review of rainbow children would be awesome! Many thanks to y’all!

  6. I have enjoyed all the podcasts so far. I haven’t ponied up the $77 for the website yet but will continue to hear what you guys have to say about it. I wanted to donate through PayPal for your casts but could not. It told me there was an error with your email.

  7. Oh, and thanks for the tip on the Leno version of “Guitar”. I dug the guitar-centric performance. See you at those west coast shows.

  8. Hello from the UK - I have now cauaght up with all of the podcasts and gotta say: great stuff! I am really enjoying the detail that you are going into on each album. It’s good to hear from genuine fans who are knowledgable but also have a sense of humour about the P world. I’m still digetsing the Lotusflow3r albums but stand out track so far has to be Ol’Skool Company. Camille is back in a big way, and this one sounds like 3121 (the title track) meets the Black album! And how crazy id No More Candy?! $ reminds me of the vibe he had running through the 21 Nights aftershow CD, very dancy, very latin, a fun tune…maybe it was written at the time of those shows? I was lucky to attend the final London aftershow, so it was good to have a number of tracks from that show on the official 21 nights CD. Have to say that Whole Lotta Love sounded SO much more impressive when you see P playing it up close, an amazing guitar performance. Anyway, hopefully there will be more live shows as it woudl be good to see a lot more of the new stuff perfomred live rather than one or two tracks. I think the days of massive world tours are gone to be honest. He’s 50 now, and there is no certainty that he will seel tickets everywhere for big venues like he did back in the day. I think that residencies or small scale hit’n'run shoes are more likely now, which is cool by me (as long as he comes back to Lodnon lol)…cheers guys, thanks for the great podcasts.
