Michael Jackson (and Prince) Show
Hello Everyone,
Firstly, RIP to Michael Jackson. We have certainly lost one of the greats.
Secondly, we have recorded a somewhat impromtu show after MJ’s passing, discussing his career and including specific commentary related to Prince as well. This convo goes many places, just our thoughts about the King of Pop. He has left the world under tragic circumstances, but one thing is for certainĀ - his legacy will continue on into eternity. Enjoy.

Oh My GOD!!! I missed Musicology and Prince show!! But I’m here now, LOL! you should do this more often. Wow, very cool podcast guys! One of The best we have so far. I have a great respect for Michael Jackson, and so do other Prince fans, this is a Prince site, but I think us Prince fans, have a great respect for Michael, even though we had a lot of rivalry and competition, i mean who hasn’t put on Off The Wall 3 times a day and played the same record over and over again.
I mean his music and his passion were, undeniable!
who hasn’t twitched a bit to ‘Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough’?!!
And the Prince comments were great! - HA HA he really is white than ‘black’. Crazy Prince, lied to me all those years, thinking that he was the exact color in Purple Rain, turns out not so! Oh well, he still wins his man points with me!
Very controversial Prince, and very controvercial Michael. Both great, both crazy, both misunderstood, both appriciated. Wow, two sides of the conversation, facinating, as well interesting!
I will miss Michael, he was a wonderful man, who is next to Michael Jackson, NO ONE!
and thats true, us secret Prince/Michael fans agree
AWESOME podcast (again!) - 5 Stars!

You touched on one artistic mistake that Michael obviously made, and it was obvious even back in 1987: He tried to replicate the success and formula of Thriller. It is something that Prince himself was able to avoid with Purple Rain. Once you have such lavish success, you would be wise to go in a different direction. Stay fresh, evolve as an artist. Michael just tried to top Thriller. You can almost draw the dots from Thriller to Bad: rock crossover (check), duet (check), etc…. Prince, after Purple Rain, went far away from that record. Around the World in a Day showed him branching out. It is nowhere near as good a record as PR but it was a welcome change of pace. Quick and easy fans of the movie were confused and quickly left–check those used bins for evidence. The rest of stayed and were fired up with our favorite guy taking such chances. Prince remained fresh and kept branching out as an artist. I always called it the “Tusk” move. After Fleetwood Mac’s huge success with Rumours, they went away from the formula and stayed artistically interesting. Thriller was pretty much the end for me and Michael. He was chasing sales, fame, and numbers and his, considerable, talent suffered.

I am a really big Prince friend but I’ve alway loved seeing MJ perform on music award shows. Anytime they would say Mike is on tv I was watching it. Loved his videos. It’s so sad and I can’t he dies. He’s gone too soon. But, going back to Prince there’s no one quite like him and what Prince can do Michael couldn’t. Same goes with Prince he couldn’t do what Mike did. There awesome seperate individual musicians and dancers. To finish my babble Prince doesn’t have to speak about Michael Jackson’s death. Especially because of Prince’s religion and Mike leaving that religion a long time ago it’s best that he not get involved. I’m sure he’s sadden by his death though and we don’t know what’s truly in Michael’s heart. God does so we can’t judge him for maybe some bad choices or the cause of his death. But I know this Mike’s kids are with good family that wil guide them in life and help to raise them with love and spirituality.
